Cardrona Pass Update - Snopro NZ

Starting this season there is a Cardrona pass update with an aim to enhance everyone’s mountain experience.

Cardrona will now be limiting daily and multi-day pass sales to reduce skier numbers during peak times, reducing lift queues and carpark struggles.

With this new strategy, the aim is to have more space to ski/snowboard, shorter wait times, and more help available from the Cardrona staff.

So, here’s all you need to know on the 2023 Cardrona pass update.

Single And Multi-Day Cardrona Passes

Cardrona andTreble Cone will see a number of changes moving forward from this year onwards.

Passes will now sell out on the busiest days, and prices may increase depending on the demand of the day. When purchasing a pass, you will now need to select your mountain of choice, Cardrona or Treble Cone, and specify the day(s) that you wish to visit. Locking in a date for single-day passes or a “window,” for multi-day which will be as follows:

  • 2 days out of 5
  • 3 days out of 5
  • 4 days out of 7
  • 5 days out of 8
  • 6 days out of 9
  • 7 days out of 11

How To Hack The System

If you reserve your pass with Snopro, the rate will remain the same – the cheapest no matter what the demand is. As an added bonus you won’t have to pay for the pass or select the exact dates until one of our friendly ski techs attend your ski rental fitting.

If you are wanting maximum flexibility for a small premium,  we recommend the Flexi-5 Day pass. This pass gives you complete access to either Cardrona or Treble Cone mountains which you can use on any day(s) throughout the season.

For 2023 Treble Cone is available to reserve with Snopro on the Flexi-5 day only. We will be looking to add Treble Cone in the near future.

Mountain Closures

If you have a single-day pass reserved through us and can come another day, we’ll reschedule the pass with Cardrona for another day.

If you have a multi-day pass, first check to see what your “windows” are – i.e. if you have a 3-day pass and you’re in town for 5 you might still be able to use your multi-day pass within your time. If you are unable to use any days due to the mountains being closed, then you can contact us to reschedule outside your pass window or get a refund.
